SAM DJ is an application that will replace a first class music mixing studio. It is designed for professional DJs but with a little bit of practice even beginners will have a great use of it as a home jukebox. It offers all the tools you need for audio mixing: dual player decks, cross fader, beat matching, gap killer, volume normalization, voice and sound effects.

After installing SAM DJ you need to create categories in the playlist window to prepare your music collection for mixing. Then just add music to these categories MP3 files from Windows Explorer by dragging and dropping them. SAM DJ has a number of default smart categories (Normal song, Karaoke, Sound FX and others) to categorize tracks with the common feature automatically. You can work with over 50,000 tracks in the Playlist and see a list of the songs you played in the history window.

SAM DJ allows to configure parameters for the audio mixer pipeline, cross-fading, gap killer, playlist rotation rules, and general settings. You can choose between three playlist rotation logic modules: web scripting based, clockwheel (category rotation), or weighted. It is important to decide how often an album, title, artist, or track should be played and configure playlist rotation logic to select songs from categories in the specified order (clockwheel is recommended for beginners). You can create various clockwheels for different occasions and save them to a file.

The user interface can be customized very easily. It consists of two decks, clock, fade control, voice-tracking, queue, history, playlist, voice effects and sound effects, but you can also activate auxiliary, view of video display, and event log.
