SolveigMM WMP Trimmer plugin is a small module for Windows Media Player to cut parts of a media file fast, with no quality degradation and no audio/video synchronization problems. This tool supports the following media file formats: AVI, WMV, ASF, MPEG-2 TS, PS, VES, MPEG-1 VES, System stream file format, WMA, MP3, WAV. The WMP plugin is based on the SolveigMM Video Editing Engine, and the trimming is done without encoding/decoding but with the K-frame/GOP accuracy. SolveigMM WMP Trimmer Plugin easily splits AVI files with the size over 2 and even 4 GB. The plugin can run on Windows Media Player 9 and higher.

After activating the WMP plugin you will be able to trim one part of a media file loaded to your Windows Media Player and save it to another file (extracting sound to a separate audio file is now also supported) or cut out unwanted fragments from a media file. These features can be useful for editing of webinars, removing commercials from recorded TV programs, censoring video files for children, creating mobile phone ringtones, sharing video clips with friends and relatives or just splitting large files to fit them to CDs or into portable devices.

The video splitter plugin offers user-friendly interface in four languages (English, German, Chinese, Russian) which attaches itself as a separate window to the bottom part of Windows Media Player. The user can select the start/end time of a fragment using the playback controls of Windows Media Player or the plugin left/right slider marker and click the Start/End Time button. It is also possible to edit the trimming start/end time manually using Time Edit Controls. Press 'In' button to trim the selected fragment or 'Out' button to cut the fragment out of the original media file.
