MakeMKV allows you to choose aspect ratio and resolution of the movie, which has a major impact on the size of the final MKV file. An average time to copy a standard DVD disc is about 30 minutes. After converting a DVD to MKV, you can encrypt it and start a streaming server in order to share the file with your friends.
